The Burns supper is the highlight of the Bergen Scottish Society’s year. In 2015 the event will be held on the 24th of January, and we will again gather at Tracteursted in Gamle Bergen to toast Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns. The event kicks off at 1830. An aperitif will be served on your arrival, before we proceed to dinner, where you’ll be served the traditional haggis with neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes) and with a glass of whisky to accompany your meal. There’ll be dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth and also coffee / tea. Once again we’re partnering with Solheim Kjøtt in the making of the haggis for the evening. Findlay’s of Scotland will as usual provide Solheim Kjøtt with the oatmeal and the famous spice mix, so that it’s made just the way it should be!
During dinner there’ll be the traditional and fabulous speeches, such as the Address to the Haggis, the Immortal Memory, the Toast to the Lassies and the Reply to the Toast to the Lassies. Musical entertainment will be provided by SydVestkoret, who will be singing some songs by Robert Burns, and the Bergen Pipes and Drums. We’ll be having our traditional raffle and of course, there’ll be time for some Scottish country dancing at the end of the evening to work those calories off!
For 2015 we’re offering the following price options:
Members (until 10th of January): kr 475,-

If you’re still trying to figure out what to give people for Christmas, why not buy a gift card for the Burns supper? The card gives you an opportunity to give someone an enjoyable night of song, traditional food, speeches, dancing and fun. An example of the gift card can be seen on the Bergen Scottish website www.bergenscottish.com.
We hope you’ll join us on the 24th of January!
Kind regards
