Burns Supper
This is a small reminder of the upcoming Burns Supper, our first event of 2015. First of all, thank you to those who have responded so far. The early bird price of kr. 475,- for members is valid out January 10th. After this date, the member price will increase to kr. 550,-.
To summarize….. Scottish tradition, Scottish music, Scottish dancing, Scottish fun! Speeches, poems, songs, haggis meal, whisky, pipe band music, Scottish dancing; We’ll fit it all in but we’ll start at 1830 pm…….and we’d like you to join us!
Saturday 24th of January – Trakteursted, Gamle Bergen at 1830pm – 0030.
Ticket prices are as follows:
Member (until 11th of January): kr 475,-
Member (after 1 1th of January): kr 550,-
Non-members: kr 595,-
Children: kr 250,-
Tickets must be purchased in advance and bookings are binding. Payment can be made to our account nr. 3411.27.21721. Please mark the payment with your name and number of tickets in the “melding to mottaker” field. An email to info@bergen-scottish.com with a full list of names would be most helpful. Sale of haggis
For those of you who hold your own celebrations, or like to enjoy this unique tasting treat throughout the year, the Bergen Scottish Society is once again offering the sale of haggis.
Your order will be available to pick up on January 17th at the following locations:
A) Jim Fulton, Vassteigen 38, 5141 Fyllingsdalen, 932 80 880: pick up between 2 – 4 pm
B) Margaret Torbjørnsen, Harald Sæverudsveg 67, 5237 Rådal, 936 71 207: pick up between 2 – 4 pm
C) Willie Dawson, Sandviksveien 62, 5087 Bergen, 974 33 789: pick up between 11 am and 4 pm
D) Trakteursted, Gamle Bergen, on the 25th of January: pick up from 6 pm
When ordering please specify location A), B), C) or D) and of course the size and quantity of haggis you would like. Phone numbers are provided in case you can’t pick up on January 17th at the given times, but we’d appreciate as many people as possible doing so!
The haggis is being made up in three sizes (an approximate serving is 150g per person):
Ordinary size (approximately 500 gm) costs kr. 85,- pr haggis
Catering size (approximately 2 kg) costs kr. 340,-
Chieftain costs kr. 180,- per kilo
For the ease of everyone, payment will be cash in hand on pickup. We would like you to order by Friday 15th of January.
